Working at The Recognition Group
The Recognition Group is a group of marketing and communication agencies. We work together and across our four brands to provide integrated communications.
Current opportunities
We are the world’s leading 100% remote agency
Long before remote working was cool (or necessary), we embraced the concept of supporting our staff members to work from whatever location suited them best. We are a 100% remote team with team members spread across Australia.
You can work from home, the beach, a café, or even while travelling Australia in a van. We don’t mind where you work from. That’s the beauty of our 100% remote model.
We call it freeworking.
Work is something you do, not somewhere you go. Our tight-knit team is close not because we share an office space but because we share a passion. Our culture is clear, strong, and focused and it’s reinforced by an exceptional onboarding process.
We stay in constant touch with each other through video conferencing, phone calls, instant messenger, emails, and Teams. And, when we can, we catch up in person to do deep thinking and deep bonding.
We’re flexible and laser-focused on investing in our people, rather than investing in expensive office space. Our freeworking approach lets us tap the best talent from around Australia, and the quality of our team confirms it.
We live our values
Some businesses create a set of values, print out some posters and stick them on the walls, and that’s the end of it. At The Recognition Group, we live our values every day because they reflect who we are as individuals.
Our shout-out program shines a light on the ways our team demonstrates these values:
We are passionately engaged in our work.
We are responsive, positive, and focused on quality work.
We are committed to lifelong learning.
We are curious and seek opportunities to grow.
We are team
players.
We help each other by being generous with our time and knowledge.
We are easy to do business with.
We anticipate our clients’ needs and are proactive and agile in how we deliver.
We make our clients look like heroes.
We build and protect the reputations of the people we serve.
We are all in on being a 100% remote team.
We enthusiastically engage with everything that remote working offers us.

A commitment to diversity and inclusion
Working at The Recognition Group means bringing your whole self to work. We want to hear a plurality of ideas and perspectives because we know that’s where the real value lies. If you’re a team player, passionate about what you do, and committed to lifelong learning, then you’re one of us—you’re what we call ‘our people’—and you can thrive here by being yourself.
We support our team regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, age, physical ability, or any other demographic. We want you for your ideas, your passion, and your commitment to upholding our core values. In return, we’ll help you build your skills, grow your capabilities, and drive your career forward.
How our team works together
If you’ve worked in any kind of company before, you’ll know that it’s not the sweeping culture statement that counts, it’s how culture permeates through management thinking, decision-making, teamwork, and individual work that really matters.
With that in mind, here’s how we do it. We:
deliver value to the people we serve. That means producing actionable ideas, considered counsel, personal thoughts and articulate feedback that clients and peers truly value
engage with the business. No one wants to be a spectator at work. Everyone needs to help drive the business forward with ideas, energy and teamwork. It’s no surprise that the most engaged team members are the ones who get more career opportunities
use systems and technology that make us efficient, help deliver quality outcomes, and help us understand how the business is running. Our systems are custom-built, world-class and make it easy for people to do great work. If we see systems being ‘worked around’ then we know we need to modify them to keep them relevant and valuable to the team. Our systems support you, not the other way around
respect our clients, our teammates, and ourselves. Humility, empathy, and trust are critical elements in a professional services environment and lead to rich, authentic, and interesting relationships with our clients and teammates, and improve our self-awareness and self-development
grow, using the many opportunities on offer to keep developing our careers and adding value to the business. Learning and development is an ongoing process and we support lifelong learning by providing paid education training courses, book clubs, regular team lunch-and-learn sessions plus workplace coaching on a daily basis
take feedback and use it. Everyone is on a journey to improve, so we give and take feedback with open honesty and genuine enthusiasm
avoid office politics. We’re all here for the same reason and we’re all on the same team, so there’s no room for politics. Legitimate complaints or concerns will always be heard and acted on appropriately
have fun and enjoy what we do.
We find clients we all want to work with. The clients we do the best work for are people we like. On the other hand, clients who are bullies, don’t listen to our counsel (then argue about the results) or dispute our invoices constantly are value detractors and demoralise our team. We move those companies on, or they move themselves on.
